Hi. My name is Michael, and I make images. I would love to make some for you.
I am a photographer based in Copenhagen, Denmark, working for newspapers, magazines, NGO’s and commercial companies.
I divide my time between providing images to clients and working on personal long and short term projects. I believe in the power of the image, that it can make people act and react. When working with clients, I do my outmost to understand their needs, and to deliver above expectations.
Most of my personal work is in the tradition of concerned photography, documenting social issues.
This site shows some of my personal work as well as images from assignments. Do have a look around, and feel free to contact me for assignment inquiries, both domestic and international since I will go anywhere when needed.
After a stint as a musician, I worked as an IT consultant for a decade, analyzing and designing systems to help corporations.
This was fun, but a dare from danish photographer Lars Bech made me apply to the photojournalist education at the Danish School of Journalism — which, to my own surprise, got accepted. So, in 2006, I quit my job and moved to Aarhus to start my education as a photojournalist, which I completed in 2010.
I haven’t looked back since, enjoying my both freelance business and personal work immensely.
Currently, I live in Copenhagen in a smallish apartment with my wife Lehna, when I am not working on assignments or my own personal projects.
Please feel free to drop me a line, if there is anything I can help you with.
I have been fortunate to work with both danish and international clients. Among these are Corbis Images, Revista Trip (Trip Magazine in Brazil), Nordic Innovation Berlingske, Scanpix, Information, Sydbank, Louis Vuitton, the Danish Home Guard, just to mention a few. I also do pro bono work for a select few NGO’s.
